The procedure is pretty straightforward; First you should install ffmpeg, and then you should convert your video:

sudo aptitude install ffmpeg2theora
ffmpeg2theora /path/to/your/video.avi -o /path/to/your/new/video.ogv

Now, upload your video, and embed it on your website like this:

<video src="http://domain.com/path/to/your/video.ogv" height="320" width="200" controls autobuffer>
</video>

And it's as easy as that!
