Installing python on external storage with OpenWrt

Okay, I figured I should try installing python on my OpenWrt router, and it was easier than I thought! I have an external harddrive attached to my routers USB port, mounted on /mnt/hdd/. This is the commands I used to install python:

mkdir /mnt/hdd/packages/
echo dest usb /mnt/hdd/packages/ >> /etc/opkg.conf
opkg --dest usb install python
ln -s /mnt/hdd/packages/usr/bin/python /usr/bin/python

Obviously, you need to log in to your router before you do this. ;-)
