Earlier today, I was reading Peter Toft’s blog at version2.dk and read about Mystic Mine, an action game made by Koonsolo for Windows, Mac OS X and even Linux.
This intriuged me, so I downloaded the demo version for linux.
The goal of the game is to get your mine cart down the tracks of a mine and try to accomplish the goal for that level. The levels brings many different challenges, including ude picking up coins and bringing diamonds to tunnels. You make the mining cart move change direction by switching tracks.
Althoug the game is pretty simple, for example, you only use one button to control the game, it is pretty funny and exiting. A very neat feature, that should make Mystic Mine a game for all ages, is the games ability to adapt to the players skills. This means that if the mission is “Collect 11 diamonds in 120 seconds” and you fail to do that, next time you play the level, the mission will be something like “Collect 9 diamonds in 120 seconds” – very clever.
Koonsolo even put up a video of the gameplay. I really think you should check out this game, at www.mysticmine.com.
