Playing DVDs on Ubuntu 10.10

Just like other proprietary media formats, playback of DVDs encrypted with Content Scrambling System, is something that Ubuntu can't distribute by default. However, getting Ubuntu to play encrypted DVDs are very easy. Start a terminal and paste this command, then press enter:

sudo apt-get install libdvdread4
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

It should work now. Go enjoy your legally purchased DVDs. :-)
