Some time ago, I needed to have several subdomains working, without having to define them in lighttpd. The domains had to be mapped like this: bredsaal.domain.com -> /var/www/domain.com/bredsaal/ testhomepage.domain.com -> /var/www/domain.com/testhomepage/ and so on.
